Mark Copenhaver, Principal Consultant at Ideal Care Technologies, Inc., holds a degree from Vanderbilt University (Go 'Dores!) where he majored in electrical engineering and mathematics. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and former member of both the Active X for Health Care Committee for MS-HUG and the HL7-SIGOBT committee. He conceived and developed the EncounterPRO EHR Workflow Management System in 1994 and first applied it to deploy the EncounterPRO Pediatric EMR Workflow System the next year.
Prior to that, as a database design engineer, Mark developed databases for major companies including BellSouth, Dun & Bradstreet, Lockheed, Eli Lilly, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Upjohn, SmithKlein Beecham, ICI, Abbot, Schering-Plough, Sandoz, Hoechst Roussel, and the SEMA Group.
Under heavy Confederate fire, wounded, surrounded, with one third of his men
lost, Union General John Corse is holding the fort on the top of the hill in
the US Civil War battle of Altoona. Peering into the distance, he sees a
white signal flag waving. It is a message from General Sherman; "Hold the
fort, for we are coming!" Greatly strengthened by the thought of salvation
and the enemy weakened by the thought of a large attack, General Corse and
